WE STAND IN SOLIDARITY: SHOP LOCAL

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Liberation Library began doubling the number of books we sent to incarcerated young people in Illinois as they experienced a loss of programming and in-person family visits, which led to further isolation during uncertain times. We knew it was increasingly important for incarcerated young people to have access to other worlds of their choosing.
Because of this, and in an effort to be more aligned with our abolitionist values, LibLib partners with local Chicago bookstores to purchase the majority of our books.
In addition to donating to support our work directly, you can also donate directly to our local bookstore partners so we have credit to continue purchasing books to send our inside readers the books they want to read!
Steering Committee members are packing books in shifts to send to our readers.

OUR BOOKSTORE PARTNERS
To support our book program, you can purchase gift cards directly from our local bookstore partners which allows us to restock our inventory and engage in mutual aid with our local bookstores.
